For anyone who doesn't know me (I mean face-to-face, real-life knowing. Not like reading about my shower routine as if we're besties kind of knowing but never meetings), you're probably wondering why I haven't posted about this product sooner. For anyone who does know me, you're probably wondering why on God's green earth would I choose anything in the Spa Baby line.
To my friends in the second group, I say this: God said not to swear either by heaven or by earth...shame on you! ;) (James 5 for anyone who's curious).
To my spa friends who don't know better, I say this: confession time. I don't have a baby, I used it to clean my makeup brushes!!!
So, since this product is actually meant for one thing and I use it for another, I am breaking it down into 2 days so that it's not a million years long. Today, for the moms & babies. Tomorrow, for all my single ladies & the moms who follow the KISS rule of life (that's Keep It Simple Silly!).
Okay, baby stuff for babies: for this one, I went to the experts (aka women I know who have babies, and use this product). Have you ever heard the saying that pregnancy is contagious? Well, it is. I know this for a fact. How do I know this? 2 years ago, my husband and I were a newly married couple with lots of married, dating, and engaged friends, and no babies in sight. Except our nephew. My sister-in-law was so pregnant at our wedding that she easily out-glowed me, and our nephew came along 3 weeks later. Now our life is a different story. Dinner reservations with friends read "18 adults and 4 babies." Life group RSVP's read "4 couples and 2 wives whose husbands have class, plus 3 babies and 1 puppy." Softball rosters are based on how many baby/puppy/full-grown dog-sitters are needed to sit out the game, and where winter and summer soccer teams used to vary based on everyone's holidays, they now change based on what trimester the mom-to-be has to stop playing. Suffice it to say I have enough experts in my life right now, and have also started to train in the art of baby whispering. Maybe I can have my own show like Cesar Milan, he can work with the dogs & I'll work with the diapers? Nah, doesn't sound appealing to me either.
I have another confession to make (last one for the day, I promise): I don't like the smell of baby products. Or babies. But mostly just their products. I know, I'm probably the only woman on the face of the planet who would say this. Maybe it had to do with the fact that my mom only bought baby powder scented deodorant when I was growing up? Shrinks always blame it on the parents anyways, so let's go with that theory. Score 1 for this product comes from me: it doesn't smell strong at all! It's not an overwhelming punch-you-in-the-face baby powder scent, which is awesome.
Next from the moms:
Mom #1 has a baby who had such bad rashes & skin peeling when he was first born that she couldn't stand to bathe her own baby because she hated to see his reactions. The doctor prescribed creams and lotions, but nothing worked 100% because he was reacting to the products. Even the all-natural, obscenely-priced products gave him reactions, albeit not as bad as the famous drug store brands. When this little sweetie-pie was just a couple months old I introduced them to BeautiControl, and bath-time got a serious facelift. Gone was the need for any prescription creams, or too-expensive products that only sort-of worked. With just the hair & body wash replaced by BC Spa for Baby, the improvements were amazing. After switching to this product along with the baby creme, all rashes & reactions were healed & gone for good!
Mom #2 was so excited for her baby, but what was she most excited for? Bath time! BC Spa for Baby is her favourite bath line by far, and she still uses it regularly (although because she was SO excited for bath time, she got a LOT of products for her baby shower, she hasn't run out of anything yet!)
Mom #3 also has a sensitive baby, but also an often-sick baby. This mom loves how easy it is to wash & shampoo with 1 product, cutting down on time taken away from focusing on baby looking for the right products, and therefore on how long baby has to stay in the water. The warmer & drier the babe, the less they are sick!
Do any other moms out there have feedback for this product? Please be sure to leave them in the comments below, I'd love to hear more!
Stay tuned for tomorrow's episode on how to wash your makeup brushes...
I have used the hair/body wash on myself because I heard it was good for eczema. I used it on a spot on my belly, and the eczema cleared up within just a few days. I (like you) HATE the smell of baby powder, but I really love the simple, not over powering smell of the baby wash.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if you'll be highlighting any other baby products, but I also adore the foaming no-rinse wash as an awesome alternative to hand sanitizer!
That's great, I was wondering about using it myself as a shampoo and now I know I can! I wasn't planning on featuring any baby products, but this one caught my attention when I was washing my brushes. I will give the no-rinse wash a chance and make sure to include it in the future for you. Thanks for the tips and stay tuned! :)
