Day 5: BeautiControl Professional Skin Care Tool

I have a confession: I LOOOOOVE showering. There's just something so refreshing and unique about showering that you can't get from washing your face or your hair on its own. It's definitely not like swimming, even though you're covered in water either way, and while baths are lovely it's still not the same. Maybe I like the idea of starting fresh each day. Plus it's my escape, my me-time, before everyone else in the world starts demanding my attention because they think they're more entitled to my time than I am (Case and point: when was the last time you tried to go to the bathroom with the door closed and someone started talking to you through the door anyways? Going to the bathroom in pairs with a friend doesn't count.). The reason I thought of this today is because I went to go take a shower, half-asleep still, and followed my regular routine (to make sure I didn't forget to wash my hair or my face or anything else due to lack of caffeine in my bloodstream), when it wasn't there. What wasn't there you ask? The one thing that has turned my love of shower time from personal escape to

a daily intense relaxation and rejuvenation session.

If you've been around BeautiControl for a while, you will know that often when older products are discontinued or “While Supplies Last” it means there's something bigger or better that's coming. Sometimes it's new packaging, other times it's a new product entirely, and still other times it's a re-invention or re-design of an older product that needs improving (if you've seen any of the Iron Man movies, you'll know what this is about). This skin care tool is a testimony to that last category. A while ago (ok, earlier in 2013), and for as long as I've been with BeautiControl, we had a sort of brush system that was just okay. I mean, it worked well and I enjoyed it, but I really had to go out of my way to remember to use it, and to make the time for it. Since I'm one of those girls who mixes her face wash and exfoliating polish together because I can't be bothered to do the same action twice, you can imagine exactly how many times I used that in the year and a half that I had it. So when this re-incarnation came along I didn't really think much of it either.

This is when I would usually say “then I tried it.” The truth is, I knew it would be good, but same as before I knew I couldn't be bothered to add extra minutes into my routine so that I could use it. What caught my attention was this one word: waterproof (please insert angelic chorus here). Yep, waterproof. As in it goes in my shower and stays there. And I don't remember halfway through washing my hair that I wanted to do my face before getting in the shower. But why use it to begin with? I will answer your question with a question: have you ever used an electric toothbrush? If not you should. And then you should try the Skin Care Tool. I love the feeling of clean teeth about as much as I love that after-shower clean feeling. Or a clean house. Well at least 2 of those 3 happen daily. It's not that using a regular toothbrush doesn't clean your teeth well. Some people have used them their entire lives and are very happy with the results, they've never had a cavity. But an electric toothbrush gives you that extra WOW, the feeling that your teeth are REALLY clean. It's like that when you wash your face with the Skin Care Tool. Using your fingers is fine, and it gets your face clean. But when you use the tool, it's that extra WOW that you really need sometimes. And by sometimes I mean every day.
