Day
6: Tierra Azul Hot Stone Body Scrub
So it hasn't been that long that
we've been together (although already it's starting to feel like
ages. In a good way. Right???), but already I'm changing my mind
about how I use a product. Remember on Day 1 when I said that I use
the Instant Manicure in my shower, how it's the greatest exfoliater
and shaving after feels lovely? Well, today I had an almost-crisis:
my instant manicure ran out after one leg! I know what some of you
are thinking: how is this an ALMOST crisis? This should be full-on
hysteria!!! No need to panic, let me explain.
Whenever BeautiControl launches a
new product, it's probably because they've taken away an old
faithful. I will see old faithful sit on the “while supplies last”
list for ages, and then it will run out, and all of this long time
allows for my bitterness to brew and bubble and make me just a little
bit angry that they dare take away a product that my clients and I
love and can't live without. Like a body scrub that doesn't smell
like brown sugar. I sell a lot of it, but that scent is NOT for me.
So by the time said new product launches, I have worked myself into a
frenzy over the fact that they have taken away a beloved friend, and
I am absolutely convinced that said new product will be useless and
awful and there's no way it's ever going to be as good as the last
one. Then I try it, and I think “meh.” Then a few hours later I
think “my, what lovely (insert place said new product should be
used) I have, must be because of (said new product).” And after
a few uses, I learn that it is. Thus, a new favourite product is born
and the evil cycle continues.
With that in mind, I embraced my
chance to test a new product. Because (obviously) there was no way
that it would compare (never mind actually be better) to and Instant
Manicure in the shower. Well for starters, it comes in a squeeze
tube. Win 1 for the Tierra Azul Hot Stone Body Scrub. It heats up
(legit!). Win 2 for the TA Scrub. It has little tiny scrubby things
that are so small I couldn't even see them, but I felt them
scrubbing. Win 3. The little scrubby things also felt like they were
massaging the palms of my hands at the same time. Win 4. There wasn't
any oil left behind like the Instant Manicure, which I was going to
record as a loss, but it turns out that's actually better, since I
was still able to shave without product BUT, it didn't clog my razor
& means that over time it won't wear down the blades as fast.
That makes Win 5. At which point we should just stop counting,
really. Other points that I consider a plus for the Hot Stone Body
Scrub:
- It's cheaper than the Instant Manicure ($2 in Canada)
- It smells AMAAAA-AAAZING. I rather the gentle smell of this than any of the Instant Manicures during my relaxing morning routine.
- Long-term: sometimes my legs get a bit dry or itchy during the day. Today only my left leg feels irritated (the Instant Manicure leg), and my right leg (Stone Scrub) is as happy as a pig in mud. But cleaner. (Thank goodness!)
The
moral of the story? My Instant Manicure will be retiring from the
shower for the next little while (Don't worry! It will still be
beside every sink in my house and used regularly – nothing can ever
replace that for my hands!), starting a cycle of its own all over
again. But you know this cycle is only made worse when the product is
launched with a “Limited Time Only” label. Then I have to hope
and pray that every other consultant becomes as enamoured as I am so
that it is made a permanent addition to the BeautiBook and it stays
for at least a few more months. Otherwise, I need to stock up now and
hope something else equally amazing is created. But of course I know
nothing can be as equally amazing (and definitely not better!) than
my beloved product. Repeat cycle.
NOTE: The 3 new Tierra Azul products
were launched as limited edition...consider yourself warned.
